Lose 25 Pounds

I have been battling headaches for 7 years now. I have tried everything except accupuncture (which scares the crap out of me!). I had sinus surgery, went to an allergist, saw two neurologists, went to physical therapy, saw a psychologist, drove to Lansing twice a week to go to a headache clinic, have tried numerous medicines... nothing has worked. I have had mixed reviews from doctors about what kind of headaches they are. Most recently, and what I agree with, is that I have (chroic) tension headaches, migraine headaches, and rebound headaches because I take so many pain meds to get rid of the headaches, that I get a headaches when  I don't take them... what a vicious circle....

The second neurologist that I saw tried to put me on Topamax, again... it didn't work, again.... Then she tried something new, a very old medicine, Pamelor, it is actually an anti-depressent. A common side effect is weight gain. Considereing that I have always battled my weight, I wasn't thrilled about this. As a side note, I some how manage to lose weight when I am pregnant. After I had Adalynn, within 3 months I weighed 20 pounds less than when I got pregnant. I had maintained that weight for almost a year, then I started Pamelor, and I gained 30 pounds in 8 weeks. Something had to be done!

The only problem is that this medicine was the first thing I had tried that was actually helping the headaches...

I went back to the doctor, we tried reducing my medication to see if I could keep the headaches away but limit the weight gain. As I reduced the medicine my headaches came back, I increased the medicine and the headaches went away. But, considering the weight gain (I weigh what I weighed when I was 9 months pregnant!) I have to make some changes. I am reducing the medicine, and I stated Medifast. So far I have been on Medifast for 2 day, the food is nothing spectacular but it is edible. My hope is to lose 50-60 pounds in 4 months. In two days I have lost 3.5 pounds.

So far, so good! The good thing is that I don't feel hungry - you eat every two-three hours, several recipes are available online to help change up the food a little.
